My kitchenaid side by side refrigerator freezer has this ice maker and has the ice bucket mounted on the inside of the freezer door.
To manually start a cycle either grasp the ejector and rotate upward cw fr.
Front or use a screwdriver to turn the smaller gear ccw if yours has a slot for once you turn it a short distance you ll hear a little click and the unit will start to run.

Make sure your test probes go into the test points 1 2 test points t h will verify if the bimetal thermostat is open or closed.

Make sure the ice bin is on the door the idi slide is on and both doors are.
The following procedure may be helpful when trying to manually start an idi ice.
The procedure will override the 50 minute ice maker time out.

From there a jumper wire would be needed to jump from pin t to pin h on the ice maker motor cover would be removed.
This will force the ice maker into a harvest mode if the ice maker is receiving 120vac and the jumper wire would need to be removed once the rake arms reach the 6 o clock position.
Make sure the ice sensing bail has clearance to raise lower during this test cycle.
Jump start ice maker whether your kenmore ice bin is empty or your whirlpool ice maker is not dumping ice you will want to jump start the ice maker to see if your reparation work was fruitful.

Once the jumper wire is in place the icemaker should start going through the cycle after about 10 seconds or so you can take the jumper wire out.
