You are essentially sealing off the metal roof with this flashing and you need to make sure that is securely fastened.

You can use 1 inch nails for the installation of eave flashing. For exposed fasteners avoid over tightening the fastener. You can also nail a chalk line straight every 2 feet to use as a guide. Be sure the larger edge is laid so that the small edge of the next panel will overlap it.
